Promoting diversity equity and inclusion (DEI)

Stora Enso is committed to offering an inclusive and equal workplace where we respect and appreciate individual differences.

We value different experiences and views. Diversity strengthens our competitiveness and contributes to better decision-making by enabling us to explore new perspectives. Combined with inclusion, it supports high work satisfaction and innovation as well as agility.

Our aims and priorities for providing a safe, diverse, and inclusive working environment for all our employees are laid out in our People Promise. We actively encourage employees to share their views, and we have zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment, and bullying in any form. We have set our diversity KPI related to gender balance, while also recognising diversity embraces age, ethnicity, national origin, and other personal identity aspects.

We are continuously working towards increased diversity and inclusion with a variety of actions. These include monitoring employee views on the diversity and inclusion efforts in periodic employee surveys, analysis and understanding of gaps within the company, recruitment outreach as well as unconscious bias training. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) play an important role in our work. Communications campaigns have served to create further awareness around diversity, equity, and inclusion topics company wide.

Our diversity work was recently ranked by Financial Times. Read more:
